Fertility

Ovarian reserve and cycle hormones. The AMH and fertility panel is $179 with your own doctor's request, or $259 with a KnowLuna doctor and a results consult. A single ovulation check is $59: a mid-luteal progesterone, collected about 7 days before your expected period, which is day 21 in a 28-day cycle and later in a longer one. Cycles and hormones

The female hormone panel is $139, and the hormone and thyroid panel $189. Cycle mapping across a whole month is $379, which is a detailed option rather than a standard investigation, since no guideline recommends serial hormone mapping, so it suits a specific question you and a treating doctor have already framed. PCOS and metabolic

Pregnancy

Preconception check $299, reproductive carrier screening (price on launch), NIPT (price on launch), pregnancy blood test $59 and the postpartum recovery check $199. The HbA1c in the postpartum check is a general metabolic check, not the follow-up after gestational diabetes: that follow-up is a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test at 6 to 12 weeks after birth, arranged through your GP, because HbA1c reads falsely low in the early months after birth. Perimenopause and menopause

The perimenopause and menopause panel is $199. For women whose doctor has already prescribed treatment, monitoring is $189 and the testosterone therapy check $179. These are general health markers your prescribing doctor may want while you are on treatment: your doctor decides which of them are relevant and how often, because dose is guided by how you feel rather than by a blood level, and oestradiol is mainly useful when absorption is in question. Postmenopause and beyond

The postmenopause health check is $219, covering bone chemistry, lipids, glucose, kidney and liver function, thyroid and iron in one fasting collection. Bone density itself is measured by a DXA scan rather than by blood: the bone chemistry screens for treatable causes of bone loss, and parathyroid hormone is most useful when calcium or vitamin D is out of range. Symptom-led checks

Fatigue and energy check $179, female hair loss check $199, hormonal acne check $169 and the weight and metabolic check $199. Most women with acne have androgens in the normal range, so the acne check earns its place mainly when acne comes with irregular cycles or other signs of raised androgens, and a normal result does not rule out a hormonal contribution. The weight and metabolic check shows metabolic risk markers: insulin resistance itself has no single blood test, so the panel reads fasting glucose, HbA1c and lipids together, and one cortisol reading cannot rule cortisol excess in or out. Partner tests

Thyroid panel $89, iron studies with a full blood count $69, vitamin D $49 and a pharmacogenomic profile (price on launch). Single tests are test-only, a KnowLuna doctor requests them at no extra charge, and a 20-minute consult can be added (+$59). See the single tests hub.

Why self-pay tests are not Medicare rebated

Medicare rebates pathology when a treating doctor orders a specific test for a specific clinical reason, under the rules of the Medicare Benefits Schedule. That is a deliberate design: the rebate follows a clinical indication, not a request.

KnowLuna tests are requested at your initiative, because you have a question, rather than because a treating doctor has assessed you and identified a clinical indication. So we do not bill Medicare and there is no rebate. That is how self-pay pathology generally works in Australia, and it is why we say plainly that our tests are not Medicare-rebated.

Some markers are never rebated, even through a GP. AMH is the clearest example: it has no Medicare item number, so it is out of pocket whoever requests it, including a fertility specialist. Other markers, such as thyroid function and iron studies, are commonly rebated when your GP orders them for a clinical reason, and if that route suits you it is a good one. What self-pay buys is control over the timing and the scope. You order when the question comes up, you get the whole panel rather than the markers that fit an item number, and the price is on the page before you commit.
