Women's health blood tests, by life stage.
From the first fertility question to the decades after menopause, and the partner, symptom and single tests in between. Each panel groups the markers Australian doctors look at together, so you get a clear picture rather than a random list of numbers.
Nine stages, twenty-six tests. Start with the one that matches where you are, or scroll on for the full catalogue.

Start from how you feel: tired, acne, hair, weight.

Male factor is half the picture in fertility. Test together.
Single tests and add-ons
Thyroid, iron, vitamin D and the other building blocks.

Non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT)
Screening for common chromosome conditions from 10 weeks, from a simple blood test.
Reproductive carrier screening
Find out if you carry a gene change for three common serious conditions before you conceive.
Preconception check
The checks doctors recommend before you start trying, in one visit.
Pregnancy blood test (hCG)
A quantitative pregnancy test, more sensitive than a urine test.
Postpartum recovery check

Genome-wide NIPT
The standard NIPT plus every other whole-chromosome change and the larger deletions and duplications, from the same blood sample.
Single-gene NIPT

Expanded carrier screening, couple
Both partners screened together on the expanded panel, reported as a couple risk with genetic counselling included.

The treatable blood-test causes that can contribute to hair loss: iron, thyroid and androgens.
Fatigue and energy check
The treatable causes of exhaustion that get missed.
Weight and metabolic check

Iron studies and full blood count
Iron stores and anaemia in one test.
Vitamin D
One marker, often low in Australian women despite the sun.

How your genes affect the medicines you take. Your genotype does not change, though the guidance on what it means is updated over time.
Indicative launch pricing. Self-pay, not Medicare-rebated.
Sources and further reading
General information only, not medical advice. A blood test is one input to a doctor's assessment, not a diagnosis on its own. If your symptoms are severe or sudden, see a doctor promptly. Read our medical disclaimer.
Start with where you are.
Do I need a GP referral to order a blood test with KnowLuna?
No. Pathology in Australia has to be requested by a registered practitioner, and that can be your own doctor or ours. Bring a request your GP or specialist has signed and pay the test-only price, or answer a short questionnaire and have a KnowLuna women's health doctor review it and request the panel for you.
Where is the blood collected?
You choose at checkout. An accredited pathology collection centre near you is included, from a network with centres across Australia, and a standard draw usually takes under ten minutes. Where a test allows it you can instead have a home kit posted to you or book a nurse home visit, and each test page lists its own options. Once your test is requested we show you the closest centres and any preparation you need, such as fasting or cycle timing. Every sample is analysed by a NATA/RCPA-accredited laboratory.
Can a blood test diagnose PCOS or menopause on its own?
No. These are clinical diagnoses made by a doctor from your symptoms, history and examination. A panel supports that assessment by showing what is happening with your hormones; it does not replace it.
Do I need to fast?
Only for the tests that include fasting glucose, which are the PCOS panel, the weight and metabolic check and the postmenopause health check. The lipid profile in the menopause treatment monitoring and women's testosterone therapy panels can be collected without fasting, which is now standard practice. We tell you exactly what to do before your collection.
Does cycle timing matter?
For some hormones, yes. Where timing matters we guide you on the best day of your cycle to collect, and the doctor reads your results in that context.
